New factsheet added: Criminal case preparation – an introduction

We’ve added a new factsheet advising you about the preliminary stages of your criminal case preparation.

This is the first in a series of factsheets that will take you through the process in general terms about how your criminal defence case should be prepared for trial. Of course each case is different and the preparation that is required for your individual case will vary but we hope that this will help you as a general overview and help demystify the process for you.

Future factsheets in the series will take you through for example: disclosure of further prosecution evidence; defence witness statements; defence case statement; defence experts. If you would like to know about these areas keep reading over the next few weeks.

If you have any questions relating to your individual case you should contact your own solicitor for advice.
